Leadership themes

Leadership lessons and themes I see and support in my Coaching practice: 

1. Leadership is nuanced

Learn to lead from the front, the side and the back. They all have merit.

You'll have a preference - stretching into other leadership styles will up your game enormously. 

2. Feedback is f#*king hard...

And tough conversations get tougher when avoided.

You can give hard but compassionate feedback and leave your feedback-ee (it's a word!) motivated.

3. Listening is a critical skill (and widely lacking)...

Stepping back from being the fixer / solver / saviour will help you listen better. If you master nothing else - master this.

These skills are assimilated through learning the tools (theory) and practicing them (application). 

There's no way round it / over it / under it - ya gotta go through it my friend!
